My Story

My name is Monica Renee Hunter.  I grew up as the oldest of five siblings in a loving, godly home where I  was homeschooled for twelve years.  When I was almost seven, God opened my eyes and heart to His truth and revealed to me that I was a sinner in need of help from Him.  I turned my life over to Him and asked Him to forgive me of my sins – past, present, and future – and for Him to become the Lord of my life.

In my latter teen years, I decided I wanted to experience the world and thought I could enjoy both God and earthly pleasures.  God clearly told me that this was NOT possible.  Thankfully, “He who begins a good work in you will be faithful to complete it” (Phil. 1:6). God graciously took my desire for the world and replaced it with a passion to pursue Him and to share that passion with others.

I attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with a BA in History and English and a minor  in Music.  While there, I loved working with both the Baptist Student Ministry during the school year and on staff at the amazing Summit Ministries camp in Colorado every summer.

Now I am living my childhood dream of being a wife and mommy! My godly, handsome husband, Matt, and I have shared four years together in marriage. We have two precious daughters, Abigail Marie, born December 30, 2009, and Aubrey Michelle, born April 4, 2011.  I love to cook yummy meals, clean and organize, play with my little ones, and cuddle with my hubby.  Our family attends a loving church, Lakeside Bible, where we serve on youth staff, specifically working with the college age.

While I have many interests and activities that keep me quite busy, my greatest passion and joy remains loving Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord. My prayer as you read this blog is that you will seek to know and love Him more, along with me, as we strive to serve Him in all areas of our lives.
